Cinnamon Molasses Syrup Recipe
Ingredients
- 2 C. granulated sugar
- 1 C. water
- 3 Tbsp. Grandma’s® Molasses
- 1 tsp. lemon juice
- 3 Tbsp. butter, cut into pieces
- 2 tsp. Spice Islands® Ground Saigon Cinnamon
- 1 tsp. Spice Islands® Pure Vanilla Extract
- ½ tsp. salt
Directions
- In a large saucepan, combine the sugar, water, molasses and lemon juice.
- Cook over medium high heat, stirring to dissolve the sugar, until the mixture comes to a boil.
- Reduce the heat to a simmer and cook for 8 minutes without stirring.
- Remove from heat and stir in the butter, cinnamon, vanilla and salt.
- Serve immediately or transfer to a glass container and cool completely before putting on a lid.
- The syrup will thicken upon standing.
- Store in the refrigerator for up to a month.
