Meatloaf with Molasses Glaze Recipe

Ingredients

 

Meatloaf:

  • 1 ½ lbs. ground beef
  • 1 C. rolled oats
  • 1 small onion, small diced
  • ¼ C. ketchup
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • ¾ tsp. salt
  • ½ tsp. black pepper
  • ½ tsp. Spice Islands® Garlic Powder

Meatloaf:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
  2. In a large bowl combine the ground beef, oats and onion.
  3. In a medium bowl, whisk together the ketchup, eggs, Worcestershire sauce, salt, pepper and garlic powder until well blended.
  4. Pour over the ground beef mixture and thoroughly mix.
  5. Spray an 8 ½” x 4 ½” or 9”x5” loaf pan with cooking spray.
  6. Press the meatloaf evenly into the pan.

 

Glaze:

  1. Whisk the two ingredients together until well blended.
  2. Pour ½ cup over the top of the meatloaf and use a pastry brush or the back of a spoon to spread all over the top.
  3. Bake for 1 hour.
  4. Turn the oven temperature up to 400°F.
  5. Remove the meatloaf from the oven and brush with the remaining glaze.
  6. Return to the oven for an additional 10 minutes.
  7. Remove from the oven and allow to cool for 15 minutes before slicing.
