Grandma’s Granola Recipe
Ingredients
- 3 C. rolled oats
- 2/3 C. chopped walnuts
- 2/3 C. chopped pecans
- 2/3 C. raw pepitas
- 2 tsp. Spice Islands® Pure Vanilla Extract
- 1 tsp. Spice Islands® Ground Saigon Cinnamon
- ½ C. Grandma’s® Molasses
- ¼ C. brown sugar, packed
- ¼ C. olive oil
- ¾ tsp. salt
- 1 C. dried cranberries
Directions
- Preheat the oven to 250°F.
- In a large bowl, stir together the oats, walnuts, pecans and pepitas; set aside.
- In a small bowl, whisk together the vanilla and cinnamon until well blended.
- Then add the molasses, brown sugar, oil and salt and whisk until smooth.
- Pour the liquid mixture over the oat mixture.
- Stir well until all the oat mixture has been completely coated with the molasses mixture.
- Spread the granola out onto two large baking sheets.
- Bake for 30 minutes then stir and bake an additional 30 minutes and stir again.
- Finish by baking for 15 minutes.
- When cool, pour into a bowl and stir in the dried cranberries.
- Store in an airtight container.
Tips
You can use a combination of your favorite nuts and/or seeds in place of the walnuts, pecans and pepitas – just keep the total amount to 2 cups.
You can swap out the cranberries for dried cherries or raisins, if desired.
