Walnut Brownies with Molasses Recipe

Ingredients
8×8 pan recipe
- 1/2 C. Crisco® Pure Vegetable Oil
- 6 Tbsp. cocoa powder, sifted
- 1/2 C. granulated sugar
- 1/2 C. Grandma’s® Molasses
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 C. all-purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 3/4 C. chocolate chips
- 1/2 C. chopped walnuts
9×13 pan recipe
- 1 C. Crisco® Pure Vegetable Oil
- 3/4 C. cocoa powder, sifted
- 1 C. granulated sugar
- 1 C. Grandma’s® Molasses
- 4 eggs
- 1 C. all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 1/2 C. chocolate chips
- 1 C. chopped walnuts
Directions
- Spray an 8×8 pan (or 9×13 if using that recipe) with Baker’s Joy® No Stick Spray with Flour; set aside.
- Preheat oven to 350°F.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the oil, cocoa, sugar, molasses and eggs.
- Gently stir in the flour and salt.
- Fold in the chips.
- Pour into the prepared pan and sprinkle walnuts on top.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out mostly clean.
- Allow to cool in pan for 10 minutes before cutting.
Tips
Baking time for both an 8×8 and a 9×13 are the same. Always check with a toothpick.
